The 2008 World Championship of Online Poker has apparently broken records with its $30 million overall series guarantee, it has been reported on PocketFives. After two days of play Carter "ckingusc" King walked away with the top prize of $1,265,000 after he beat 2,184 other players and came first in a five-way chip chop deal that included the player apparently ranked top among online players "AJKHoosier1". The World Championship of Online Poker has 33 separate events and offers a number of different poker games including Hold'em, Omaha, Stud, Razz, HORSE and 2-7 draw. Also available to play in this year's championship were new games Mixed Hold'em, Mixed Omaha, 4-max Hold'em and an eight-game mixed event. Pokerstars reports that a total of 22,873 players from 119 countries took part in the event. The biggest winner was UK player Liberace who apparently won a total of $1,377,179 across a variety of different events.
