Black mold can spread all over your home and all new home owners should get educated on how to keep it from spreading in the home. one of the main reasons why black mold is doangerous is because they symptoms don't hit you right away but they will in time. As soon as there is an outbreak of mold the havok it causes is truly devastating. There is no way any one can predict how much time anyone has been they have been inhaling the toxic fumes. Black mold can spread very quickly and here are the reasons why. This is a scenario that recently just happened to me and my family. As you all know it can get pretty hot in the summer time here in the sunshine state so we have to use the a/c 90% of the day. Usually the air conditioner will cycle off and the condensation will be drained through a small pipe outdoors. This never gave me any sort of problem until last week. I listened to the a/c system when it turned off and it sounded like it was raining water on my water heating unit. I always thought the water was draining properly just like it always did. Man was i mistaken. I was shocked when i woke up the next day and found out that my hall way area was flooded with water. I looked under the air conditioning and saw that the air filter and everything under it was soaking wet. And then i saw the blackish green mold that had already started to incubate on the wood and walls. I started to worry that this mold was growing there for a good day or two. And what made it even worse was i never would of know about it unless this problem with the a/c didnt happen. The first thing i needed to do was find out why and where the water was leaking from. My next option was to figure out what natural mold removers that i could get that were powerful enough to remove the mold and keep it from returning. I had a feeling that the drain pipe was the reason for the leaks. I just went ahead and took a look at that first before i did anything else. My hunch was right because that pipe was the one causing all of the leaking. The drainage pipe was clogged with black mold and algae. I then took my mold killer and applied it to the inner portions of the drain pipe. I was suprised how good of a job it did cleaning both the algae and the mold and mildew. I wanted to make sure that kept the black mold from embedding themselves in the carpet and growing. I rented a water extractor and sucked up most of the standing water in the carpet. Since the carpet was not dry in the hallway I gently sprayed all the flooring and pretty much all the walls of the a/c closet with the organic mold cleaning product. I gave the product about 10 minutes to kill any mold that was embedded deep into the base of the carpet. I then wiped all the walls dry. i then used my vacuum cleaner to scrub up the remaining mold from the carpetand let the brushes do the work for me. And since that time, I don't have a spec of black mold growing in the air conditioning area. I'm just greatful that i found out about this menace before it caused me and my family permanent damage. i checked out some articles about how families had to leave their homes because the black mold became so toxic that there was no way any human being could live in the homes without having serious health issues and even dea. Thankfully, time was on my side. You better believe that since this happened i am going to keep tabs on the a/c unit to make sure this problem wont occur again in the future.
