Dark night with cold breeze was there, which is usually a concern for the residents of hilly station Abbottabad. The emotions and feelings of residents are directly proportional to the climatic changes. In fact it is true through out the year. People care very much about the weather and its fluctuations here, sunny day in winter season is usually welcomed and windy nights are sensational. But, despite of cold dark night, weather was no more issue tonight. It is 18th February 2008 and clock just struck 9pm. Today was the day of ‘mother of election’ according to President Mushraf. A day of hope and time of change, the moments of decision and the events of erratic events, truly, in narrow prospective, ‘The Judgment Day’. Although the rumors and the views are indicative but lack of certainty was there. Nobody can claim with certainty about the outcome of process and communities of both fro and foe of presidency camp not sure about their claims, views and previews. Every thing depended upon the feelings and decision of silence of Pakistan, a common man of Pakistan. He was given the justice post, the authority’s power and the directing force just on time in five years. That man who was suffered from poverty, inflation, disregards, negligence and was with bruised soul and sentiments. He has nothing left behind to rely upon and to be proud off. He virtually lost everything, truly. And, when he got chance of revenge, he took challenge and showed and expressed the hidden hatred building in him for the last one-decade against establishment, irrespective of its form. Yes it is expected to some extent but such a huge turn down was out of question. Every political party cried high and expressed loudly, preemptively, about pre poll rigging and insisted more on intra poll and post poll rebellion behavior. But results were sensational enough for the local media to get hype and high in people’s minds, But not as true for the international media. They presume, predicted, portrayed and proved that reemergence of political forces. There could be many critical factors for their analysis but firstly; western antiterrorism coalition wanted a public backed government of pro western allies in Pakistan. Secondly; collateral damages started bothering armed establishment in Pakistan. You can’t just take this armed establishment as for granted, as they have their own goals, own plan of actions and own way of getting results. You can’t dictate it for long time. It may be the point, which really jolted the presidential camp, which has to sack down the previous ruling coalition regime to fulfill the demand of DO MORE. Thirdly; western think tanks read the minds of Pakistani public and accommodated their policies according to wishes of Pakistanis. Infact, this is power of public opinion which moved the out flux of ideas from western policy maker’s minds, so they have to appreciate, accept and have to in line with running stream. History of democracy tells us that it is name of slow and steady change and continuous struggle. You can’t build Rome in one day. You have to wait and collateral efforts are required like a switch in time. Struggle initiated by one generation carried on by next one and then next process going on till after several decades the fruitful results start revealing. But as a nation we show signs of urgency, wants to have results even waiting long enough to allow time to get ripen. As all we know, the life of premature change is very thin. Secondly, the process of democracy needs continuity. Any disruption and breakdown, results not only in sudden halt of the process but also put cart in reverse gear. Same vicious cycle repeated again and again in Pakistan so many times that it is now become the second nature of politics here, read as pseudo politics. Here comes the point, where the next coming governing regime have to manipulate wisely. Agenda of western world is sill on their table and will and efforts for that agenda is not looking tired up, rather in action. That is to counter down the freedom fighter read as terrorist in Afghanistan supported by western borders of Pakistan. Currently the issues of inflation, economic disability and energy crisis was the slogans of election campaign but the real threat is exogenous, and even this will become the main concern of Pakistani publics because of declining law and order situation in country. Mess created by previous government further ignited by the Caretaker one is so much heaped up that extra ordinary wisdom, tremendous struggle and mammoth determination is essential to put the vehicle back on track. No doubt, public of Pakistan, by rejecting the LOTAS, has fulfilled the long waited demand of general concise but still lot need to be done. It is the test case. Let’s hope that the current parliament may be able to complete the numerable moments before collapsing again into hands of cruel and wicked establishment.
